Fat Man at Rest

Fatty likes to roll onto his back when he's have a 'proper' rest on your knee - he looks comfy and completely sane - NOT!!

Messy Fun

My Christmas present from my granddaughter was a piece of original art work :)  In this pic it looks like the feature wall of my workroom is quite brown, but in real life its a plummy purple and Hazel's painting tones perfectly!!

Ara's Cria Arrives

'Burnt to a Crisp' is still only nicknamed, but she has a little friend to play with now.  Yesterday Ara delivered a gorgeous little male cria.  Ara is white and Cassanova is a bay, so the little guy's colouring is quite a surprise, but a very pleasant one, he really is a cutie see:

He and 'Burnt to a Crisp' will be coming to join the team at Mt Tanga when he is about a year old :)

Ducklings in odd and unusal colour

This season we have a pair of blue silver Calls - very pretty.

I think this duckling will turn out to be apricot, but it appears to have a bib and white primaries.... not exactly what I was expecting.

And this little dusky duckling has foot colour/patterning that I would expect in a bibbed duck, and white primaries, but no bib - very odd!!  Also had a lot to say!!  LOL!!

The Moon's a Balloon, Kiki in the Orchard and the Moderns

Kiki loves chasing moths in the evening, she spends a long time racing about in the orchard every evening trying to catch them!!

Modern Game Bantams are lovely chooks, the girls make good mums and my 2 roos, high stepping Harry and George take excellent care of every chicken in their care!!  The hens lay a large egg compared with their size and their food intake is less than larger birds, they are a friendly happy breed of chook, would happily recommend them for any backyard pet situation :)

I recently re-introduced a hen and her 8 chickens, all the aunties, plus Harry and George share in their care.

Hetty, with Dalma a spotty pullet and ginger pyle cockerel chick.

Same bunch, but now showing George who is snuggling up!!

All the moderns at bed time :)

The moon is nearly at 'full' and looking quite speckky this evening :)

Best Buds

Noisette and The Jester sharing some quality time and enjoying the last rays of sunshine for the day :)

Freddie and Tarquinn get shorn

Last weekend Freddie and Tarquinn went to their new home at Camberwarra with Shayne and Brad.  Today they were shorn by the friendly team from Illawarra Alpacas, they look very different!!  The shearers were very impressed with Freddie's fleece and think he's worthy of being shown at the Sydney Royal next year, if we can sort the paper work!!
