A lovely llama day

Yesterday we visited with 2 fellow llama owners/enthusiasts  - and had a lovely time.

First we went to see Betty and her sizeable herd, including 3 stud boys with a view to selecting a mate for Sweet Pea.  Tough job!!  The boys were so nice, so friendly and eager to impress us!!

This is Sheriff, and we've chosen him to be dad :)  He is so nice, so friendly and so good looking too!!

This is his son, and I'm sorry, but I've forgotten his name, we met so many llamas this weekend!!  He is a big strong guy and  also very personable - he'll be for next time ;-D

Remembered - its Saladin!! - Aug 23, 2011

And this is the third stud, also no slouch, lovely big llama and very pretty colour.  If Sweet Pea is still up for it, we'll use him the time after :)  Everybody happy!!  LOL!!

Betty also had some darling girls for us to meet, they were all very friendly and all gorgeous, rattle the feed bucket and the sound of thudding feet soon follows!!

The girl front left is mother of stud #2, isnt her colour amazing??  I'm completely fair, I've forgotten everybody's names!!

I think this is Ginger, she is a sweetie, whatever her name!!

Betty also keeps Romney Marsh sheep, they are small and extremely cute!!  This year she had 200% lambing, down on last year though, when she had 300%, that was over achieving because she'd decided to skip a year.  The ram, and a couple of ewes had other ideas ;-D

Betty is poddying one lamb whose mother was a poddy lamb herself.  She is completely unimpressed with motherhood, and not sure what to do with her offspring.  He's had scours, but is improving.  Now a week old, we all have our fingers crossed that he'll make it.  I lay down on the floor to take this shot, its rubbish, but you'll have to deal with that.  He wears a diaper, and sleeps in a washing basket - too cute!!  Good luck little man.
