The irises are starting to come into their own in the garden, they always look speccy.
I always love the two tone ones :)
Bantam araucana chicks:
And silkie chicks, have had to band the legs of one, but hope it will soon be 'good as new':
Welcome to Rosie Francis' blog, a place to keep pace with the activities of a textile artist, long arm quilter, llama and alpaca farmer and self confessed duck nut living on the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia.

The first bearded iris, the pink rose, chickens and other ducklings
The first bearded iris for the season are out - and taking a hammering from the wind!!
The pink rose bud is getting better and better, fantastic salmon pink:
Judy has 7 ducklings now, (I have sold 7!!) those remaining include one mini duckling (blue fawn, extreme left) and one micro duckling (fawn at the rear left), they are hearty eaters, but just grow more slowly than their siblings.
I am growing out a few araucana babies from our own stock, and they are growing up with a couple of crazy (but gorgeous) polish chicks and a lone modern game bantam, who has of course turned out to be a roo!!

The country bike goes to town, Chickens, Llamas and Alpacas
What's wrong with this picture??
Correct, the front wheels arent pointing in the same direction, that's because:
Stripped thread, nut and split pin MIA
So off to town for you bike, come back as good as new please!! Its my bike's first trip away from the farm, so think good thoughts!!
Our new boy Morse is settling in well. We were told he was not very food motivated, but every time I go to the feed shed, he starts hopping from one foot to the other - are you going to bring me food? are you going to bring me food? please please let that be a yes!!
Little boys Nanook and Casper have just been weaned and have started their halter training. They will be ready for their new homes in a couple of weeks, please contact me for more details rosiered@usa.net
