Wildlife, Peg, Maxine, Eddy and the cats

Found this interesting looking and very large moth on the verandah roof - underside.  Wrong lens, but took the shot anyway before it flew away.

On hot day we go down to the dam for a swim, on her way back Peg is still wet, but looking hot already.  Wrong lens, but took the shot anyway.

Found this interesting looking beetle on the grapevine.  Looked much better when the sun shone on it, but it was in dappled shade and didnt manage to get a good shot when it was looking shiny.  Wrong lens, but took the shot anyway.

It was so warm the other evening we sat on the balcony before going to bed.  Froggie thought we'd turned in for the night and thus it was safe to sit on the hand railing.

On the way back from Nowra Hill last weekend I stopped to take a pic I've been meaning to take for ages.  Wrong time of the day, dismal weather, but took the shot anyway.

Went to Nowra Show to visit Maxine :)  Here she is freshly shorn and looking gorgeous.  Took her for a walk around the show grounds, she seemed to enjoy meeting people and was very patient with endless children who wanted to pat a llama.

Once Eddy puts his white shirt on there will be no more work done!!  Fatty seems to know this, and soon moved in for the afternoon's tv sports sesh.

Fatty is nuts, everybody knows that!

No matter how warm the weather Skinny always likes to find the warmest place to sit, any electrical appliance is a good one, if its turned on!

The YaYa Sisterhood and new Choco babies

Yesterday the little choc babies - including 1 yellow duckling ;-D - had their first trip to the day pen, and so their first chance for a proper swim.  They loved it of course, and given that it was 40 degrees here yesterday, they needed it!!  One of them did a whole lap of the little pond underwater, always fun to watch!!

Today they will spend all day out, and are learning to get along with YaYa, DaDa and GitchiGitchi.  I think GitchiGitchi is a drake, as he seems to be having the most 'problem' with the new interlopers.

YaYa looks enormous next to her little friends!!  She is only 18 days older than them!!

DaDa (extreme left) was a yellow duckling, interesting to see how much and how quickly she's 'fading' to white.

Galahs are regular visitors, here cleaning up some of the seed left by the chickens.  You can tell which is the male and which is the female from the eye colour, it would be good if I could remember which eye colour was which sex!!  LOL!!

Two young Call Duck drakes

These are the 2 young ducklings that I hatched from Queensland eggs, they've both turned out to be drakes :( and the blue one has a fawn patch on his chest... which means he fits in here perfectly!!  LOL!!  Charlie also has a fawn chest fault.  That's what happens when you get your own lines back!!  Havent given them names yet, they are just 'the blue boy' (cant be Thomas as we've already had a Thomas, and Gainsborough is a bit too long for a small duck!!) and the silver boy.  He's silver appleyard colour, but cant be Johnny!!  Will have to think harder!!  LOL!!
