The Ducks Today :)

Here are some pics of the ducks today, newbies Romeo and Juliet :)  Juliet on the left!!

Everybody else is doing nicely too!!  Here are the young silkies coming through at the moment, most entered in the Shoalhaven Auction on June 26.

This is Star's baby... Star 2!!  He is so calm and friendly, hard to take a pic of him except from above, if I crouch down to be on the same level he comes hurtling toward me!  So tame, and so unusual for a roo!!  He is a bearded silkie :)

Slim and Sally, growing up, developing beautifully and turning into really lovely ducks :).... like there is any other sort, eh???  LOL!!

And Titus, losing the last of his juvenile white feathers and getting more and more handsome with each passing day :)  This drake is from David in Coles Creek - I am very pleased to have him in my flock :)

Fatty is Special

Everybody knows it!!  Fatty is truly special... here, looking almost, but not quite, perfectly relaxed - bless!!

The fire is alight, and its warm, so the mantle is the cosiest place to be, but sometimes I think the noises in his head might just be so loud they are bothering him!!  LOL!!

Duck and the winter chill

Today I've been taking pics of Honey Barbara, its hard to tell exactly what colour she is, definitely spotted, but what else?  And such wonderful feather markings!!

And Barry, another genetic quandry, definitely choc, light phase? wrong colour in the hood, but iridescent speculum says not dusky - test matings required!!

Slim on the left, Rocko and Titus, just colouring up, and Carmen being shy.  One of the Whyland Park boys in the background.

Carmen being a bit kinder to me and the camera, she is such a pretty little duck :)

Frankie, looking very shiny and healthy :)

And Gabriel, bit long in the beak, but otherwise a nice little drake.

Isolde, such a pretty duck :)

Leylani, Frankie behind.

Rocko - looking a bit like a changeling!!

Saffie - looks nice and calm, but head duck most of the time and fond of throwing her weight around.

Sally and Slim, now very much part of the landscape and doing well :)

The young Titus, very much a look-er in the making :)

Sometimes hard to get the ducks to come out and play when I want to take photos!!  There are a pair of wedgies that cruise by every day!!
