Good Job Vynka and Bentley Update

This morning while I snored on, Vynka got on with the job, and presented us with this delightful little male cria.  We've called him Victor Hugo.  I had expected a fawn cria, but am very pleased with our first brown.

Luckily his legs aren't painted on, they work fine!

Tiana Rose is getting to be as wide as she is long… only her left to go now before Christmas …. no pressure Tiana!!

Bentley is doing well, has got the legs working well and is often to be seen doing happy laps.  'Aunty' Sweet Pea is quite enjoying the company of little ones… though she wouldn't say so out loud!!

Mum, Michelle, is quite proud, and rightly so:

His colour seems to be lightening a bit!  Think Champignon or Morelle would have been good names for him also!!  But he, and his ears, will grow into the name Bentley!

A new baby always draws a crowd!!

Think these two little guys will end up being great friends :)

A Bug and a Baby

Found this (deceased) beetle down at the yards, it is about 5cm long - I am very pleased I didn't meet it while it could still fly!!

I had to go out this morning, I felt sure nothing would happen while I was away, but when I got home Michelle had a brand new son sitting next to her!!  Tried to say hello and spray his cord with iodine spray, but Michelle decorated my white t-shirt with a speckled green pattern, that smells BAD!!! and said I was no way going to be allowed to do that!  He doesn't look anything like his full sister Misty and he needs a name!!  M………??

Three Fat Ladies and Ducklings

In the home paddock we have 3 fat ladies, not so much 888, as a mad hatter's tea party style, late late late!!

Michelle:

 Vynka Lee:

Tiana Rose:

Jemma doesn't need to be in the home paddock yet, she not due until April, but she said if she can't be in a paddock with a dam, thus one of her favourite activities - wading, is out, could she please at least be in a paddock where there are 3 meals served every day, not with the riff raff, who only get 1!!

The ducks are showing how it should be done, Roxie (Call Duck) has 7 ducklings, one mallard coloured one behind her.

And Black Betty (Black East Indies Duck) has 11 ducklings… and her cranky pants on!

Another Successful Berry Auction

Shoalhaven Poultry Group held another successful auction in Berry on Sunday.  As per usual I travelled down on Saturday, to pen birds, lend a hand and enjoy the pre-auction bbq dinner in the 'shed'.  Afterwards I stayed at Shayne and Brad's place at Camberwarra, where I was made to feel very welcome, as usual!   Shayne's cat Gerogia went out of her way to make me feel at home, where she must know that Fatty drinks out of my water glass, most nights!!

Superb Parrots and Rainbow Bee-eaters

Not my pics, but the Superb Parrots are back, and yesterday I saw at least half a dozen Rainbow Bee-eaters down at the yards :)  Today is overcast and blustery, so won't even try to take pics if I see them today!
