Welcome Rhys

Exciting news this morning with the arrival of our daughter Lindy's second child, Rhys, mother and baby both well.  A brother for Hazel :)  Time to organise another trip to France!!

Rhys weighed 4.02kg, which is the best part of 8lb 14oz in old money, so he's got a good head start on the growing thing!

Congrats to Lindy and Antoine :)

Waterlilies and Hot Weather Cats

Last year the water lilies didn't flower - the leaves are a bit small and they are probably light on for nutrients… need to fix that… but this year we've got one small but perfectly formed bloom.

The cats are flat out coping with the heat wave, Skinny would like to travel to cooler climates…

And Fatty is watching TV shows about the ice polar caps…. don't change the channel… I was watching that!!  LOL!!

Ducklings, Victor and Bentley

Judy's ducklings are growing up, time to decide which ones to run on and which ones to sell!

Victor is very curious about the camera!!

And Bentley is gorgeous - do you think he knows it, much??

Fond Farewells, New Arrivals, Flowers, Genetics and Halter Training

On Sunday we visited Apu Royalla to collect Aymara and Tikal, they said their farewells to Lorraine and Barry, mums Machu Picchu and Ara, grandma Bella and friends Salcantay and ??? (sorry Lorraine I've forgotten the other boy's name!!)

I had a theory that small mothers gave birth to small crias, regardless of the size of the dad, but Bella proves me wrong on this score, she is a small-ish llama while her daughters Machu Picchu and Ara are very big llamas - from big dads!!

Bella is an 'old girl' now, and enjoying her retirement.

Tikal's mum, the lovely Ara.

Mother and son, Tikal and Ara.

Aymara, looking very much like a leggy teenager.

Last treat time with Lorraine.

Machu Picchu with Salcantay behind.

MP and Aymara sharing farewells.

Salcantay is a lovely boy with the most amazing eye make up!

Does Tikal have a tear in his eye??

Aymara giving the landscape one last look.

Bye Mum!

In the garden at the moment the gladiolis are making a good show, but the wind is knocking them around and I've had to tie them up!  Fantastic splurge of colour, love it!!

Kiki in her best, no, it wasn't me, I wasn't there pose!

The darling Misty, as stubborn and as beautiful as ever!

I was worried we'd have trouble telling Noisette (left) and Aymara (right) apart, but they are chalk and cheese - at least to me!!  LOL!!

Bentley's lead and halter training sessions would go better without the peanut gallery… but some days, rent-a-crowd turn up uninvited!!

He is doing really well and walks nicely most days, stands to have lead and halter fitted and is for the most part a star pupil :)

In the home paddock Yolanda has a fortnight to go, and looks to have a large-ish cria on board, fingers crossed it all goes well and she has her first ever daughter!!
