The Wedding Reception

Traditionally the reception continues until the wee small hours of the morning - 4am.  I have to say that I didnt make it to stumps.  The food was excellent, the wine flowed and cheese was yet to be served when I left after 1am.  There was much merriment, dancing and power point presentations with pics of Lindy and Antoine from infancy onward.  Antoine's sister Claire did a wonderful job of these :)  You can see the bunting I spent many hours making in the background, it looked very good even if I do say so!!

Thierry set up a studion in a side room, where guests could pose for informal and formal shots, it was a brilliant idea and the results were excellent.

The Wedding Ceremony

The wedding ceremony was held at the mayor's office, where the legislation is read in full.  For the benefit of non-French speakers the entire ceremony was done in French and English, which was a big bonus for those of us whose French is only up to reading a menu!!

The documents were duly witnessed:
And the confetti thrown - the windy conditions suddenly seemed like a good thing!!

The bride and groom posed for photographs while we headed off to the reception.

The Wedding - Preparation

Home from France - and trying to recover from jet lag!!  These photos were taken by the 'official' photographer, Thierry, who was very good :)  I decided to leave my camera behind after seeing him fire off the first hundred shots!!

The wedding was wonderful, first we all headed off to Saint Omer to get our hair done.

Then Lindy and I retreated to the bathroom to apply make up - time to resurrect some very old skills on my part!!  LOL!!

The French tradition is for the groom to order the flowers, the bride only gets to see them on the day.  Here Antoine gives Eddy his buttonhole.

The trip down stairs best made before stepping into high heels!!

Finally ready to leave the house for the walk to the mayor's office, where the ceremony took place.

The Tri This Design Group - Together Again

Here we are!!  Looking gorgeous as ever!!  LOL!!

On the walk today

Dianne proposed a toast this evening - to herself for putting up the idea of the walk, to me for deciding to keep going to the end, and to Hilary for navigating us to the end!! All for one and one for all!!

Loctudy and surrounds

Yesterday we went to Loctudy, gorgeous seaside town. We ate fish and crustacean sauce with rice at a sea side restaurant, wine (red and served chilled) and then walked around the sea wall and up and down the streets, lovely little village.

Cats cats cats!!

There are several cats here at Manoir du Hilguy, but this guy is my favourite, hard not to smuggle him into my carry-on!!

Quimper, Brittany

Quimper is a lovely old town, the cathedral is spectacular and the houses very interesting,  The shopping was good, especially the specacle frames!!  We had crepes for lunch and sampled the locally made cider which was very good.

Some more pics

Struggling slightly to cope with an unfamiliar lap top... but here are a couple more pics of the trip.

Alive and Living it Large En France

Our gite near Calais was gorgeous, full of old and exciting stuff.  The garden was lovely too, a couple of pics.

On the way we spent a night in Seoul, Mum and Eddy relaxing before the flight to Paris.

A delightful puppy
