A llama massage

Edit:  Forgot to explain the title!!  For me, spending time with llamas is as relaxing as a massage!  I leave feeling completely relaxed, am nicer to my fellow road users and and can get on with the a smoother, nicer day, all because I got cosy with a bunch of camelids!!

This morning I went to visit Azzura, plainly she had an itch, that she just plain couldnt reach!!

I gave her a scratch and we took a stoll, but that itch needed more attention!!

This time I got to take the pics of a very happy llama, while Glynda scratched the itch!!

Now a thinking llama will realise that if you have 2 hands, you can be patting 2 llamas!!

This is Franco (left) and Fanfare (front right), they are the very personable little boys I fell for last time.  They are still very forward, and now that Franco is a little older, he is even more confident and very very striking.

Fanfare - looks and personality - nice one!!

This little girl is very sweet, and very calm, in no hurry to leap up just because I am walking around in the pen.  I think she's a Llapaca (huariso) but still has the lovely llama ears.

No shortage of cute calm babies, never seen so many llamas and alpacas sitting down, and staying down, even the babies!! as I wandered through the pen.

Poppy and her 4 day old cria

And young Thunder with his hugely tufted ears!!

On the way out I stopped to talk to the boys, they too look very different now that they've been shorn.

And WOW, look at Zambuka's spots!!  He's a lovely big llama, and very very spotty- what's not to like??  LOL!!

Blue Wrens and Diamond Firetail Finch

The garden at Wedgewood is teeming with bird life, here are some of the smaller ones today :)

Hazel Update

Here is Hazel in the little jacket I bought for her, couldnt resist the cute ears on the silly hood... but luckily she looks gorgeous in it ;-D

And here she is on her new play mat, very cool in Bourgoin-Jallieu right now, so a jungle theme should add warmth ;-D

Bloody Foxes!!

No pics to support this story, but cant believe that yesterday I went down to check on the ducks just after 1pm - a procrastination technique - and I was still there a few minutes later when a fox came trotting toward me and the ducks - RIGHT IN THEIR DUCK PADDOCK!!  I ran at him, screaming and yelling fit to burst.

The ducks remained oblivious to his presence!!  He scooted under the fence!!  I rounded up the ducks and put them in the day yard, they were not impressed.  Opened the gate to the paddock and called in the dogs!!

They helped me find where the fox had dug under and I filled the hole with rocks, and secured the ground mesh again.

The only good fox is a dead fox and this particular individual has well and truly outstayed his welcome on the planet!!

Hazel and Strawberries!!

Here is darling Hazel in a strawberry outfit :)  Miss you kiddy wink - big hugs from Gargie!!

Pool visit by brown snake

This brown snake was not an entirely welcome visitor to the pool this morning. His little head gave no indication of the fat and about a metre long body that followed.  All photographs taken from the safety of the great indoors!!

This little guy is very very forward!!

Exquisite Corpse

Dianne, Hilary and I played Exquisite Corpse with a garden theme, there is the result!!  I am very impressed with the outcome, but then I'm biased!!
