The Moon's a Balloon, Kiki in the Orchard and the Moderns

Kiki loves chasing moths in the evening, she spends a long time racing about in the orchard every evening trying to catch them!!

Modern Game Bantams are lovely chooks, the girls make good mums and my 2 roos, high stepping Harry and George take excellent care of every chicken in their care!!  The hens lay a large egg compared with their size and their food intake is less than larger birds, they are a friendly happy breed of chook, would happily recommend them for any backyard pet situation :)

I recently re-introduced a hen and her 8 chickens, all the aunties, plus Harry and George share in their care.

Hetty, with Dalma a spotty pullet and ginger pyle cockerel chick.

Same bunch, but now showing George who is snuggling up!!

All the moderns at bed time :)

The moon is nearly at 'full' and looking quite speckky this evening :)

Freddie and Tarquinn get shorn

Last weekend Freddie and Tarquinn went to their new home at Camberwarra with Shayne and Brad.  Today they were shorn by the friendly team from Illawarra Alpacas, they look very different!!  The shearers were very impressed with Freddie's fleece and think he's worthy of being shown at the Sydney Royal next year, if we can sort the paper work!!

Fatty and the crias

At last the big TV cabinet that doesnt 'work' in this house has been moved out of the lounge and on the back verandah - which is closed in.  The Fat Man thinks it 'works' a treat out there, especially with his favourite carpet scrap!

Noisette often hangs out with Jemma and The Jester, the 2 youngsters have become good friends, but the little boy is less inclined to wander away from his mother than his older girl friend.

The long and the short of it

Noisette is 5 1/2 weeks old and The Jester is 1 1/2 weeks old,  they enjoy playing together, but any running game is always going to be won by the older, leggier Noisette!!

The Jester is a roan, you can plainly see the white hairs on his ears!

The ever inquisitive Noisette

Her coat is getting lighter as she grows, and she looks to have ginger 'splodges' very like her 'friend' Crisp (Crisp is not her 'proper' name, waiting to hear what it is.... as soon as she shows her personality and one is chosen to suit her)

YQQ Christmas Lunch

On Saturday the Yass Quick Quilters had their Christmas Lunch at the pub at Binalong.  An excellent meal, and a fun time, held in a very old and impressive hotel :)

AAA Southern Region Christmas Party

Today we went to the AAA Southern Region Christmas Party and had a lovely time.  The seating in the 'front' garden complete with alpacas was perfect.  We got to catch up with Ruth and Peter from Lavender Park and Jim and Connie from Accapacca - a very pleasant time!!

On the animal side we were entertained by Ophelia who came up and asked to be patted, whispered in our ears and was generally VERY forward.  Have learnt that she was hand raised and that explains her affection for people - would jump at the chance to have this girl come to Mt Tanga - even though she is white!!  You know what they say, a good horse cannot be of a bad colour   LOL!!

Here are some of the lovley alpacas we saw today, and the vista we enjoyed - thanks Bob :)  Great venue and Kath and Rob, brilliant food - very much enjoyed our outing.
