Aigues-Mortes

Aigues-Mortes is an ancient walled city, very pretty, lots of shops, restaurants and even some ducks on the canal.

Shoes and other shopping

Shoes - yep, OK, my middle name should have been Imelda - some of the shoes I saw in France were amazing... for lots of different reasons.

These shoes are all made of plastic.

And then there was 'other' shopping - Saintes-Maries-de-La-Mur style.

The Camargue, Saintes-Maries-de-Lar-Mer

While I was in France I was lucky enough to stay my son-in-law's flat at Carry-le-Rouet just outside Marseille for a week.  On June 13 I took myself on a tour of the Carmargue, including Saintes-Maries-de-La-Mar and Aigues Mortes, hoping to find the wild marsh horses.  I did find them, but they werent very wild, and most seemed to be tied up, saddled and available for hire.  I did find a couple.... maybe they were on a rest day.

I saw plenty of black bulls and bullfighting of the Spanish variety and a more 'bull friendly' local version are equally popular.

But for me the most exciting find was flamingos and other bird life in the Parc Ornothologique which was brilliant.  I took a million photos, here are a couple!!

There was plenty of other bird life, not as speccy as the flamingos, but good none-the-less, including this water hen chick, how big are this baby's feet????

In the Garden today

On Saturday I went to Berry to see the Shoalhaven Orchid Society show, it was very nice, and some interesting and different orchids to be seen.  Bought a couple!!  Some in flower, some not yet.

And the little Lechenaultia is flowering its heart out, looks wonderful.

Pasquale today

Hi, should be getting on with some hand sewing while the machine is whirring away, but he's a couple of snaps of Pasquale today.  He has grown such a lot while I've been away.  This afternoon butter wouldnt melt in his microwave... but this morning!!  LOL!!

Trying to give a little perspective here..... Loli is now TINY compared with Pasq.
