Lizzie!! and Crab Apple Blossoms

This lizard was either catching flies against the lounge room windows, or making a fairly determined attempt to walk through, rather than around the house, till I arrived with my camera ;-D

Everything is blooming in the garden, it looks lovely - these taken before today's rain and this evening's wind!!

New Silkies - Buff, Black and White

I really was going to be good when I went to Goulburn on Sunday, but I came home with more birds than I took - as per usual!!

We now have Peachy who is a very pale buff, very pretty, and Ivory, white, and some new blacks, Ebony and Witchy Poo!!

Collecting the eggs gets more and more difficult as the girls become more determined to lay in their own built nests in the paddock.  This is Petra, and I've finally found her nest, I've had only 1 egg from her so far!!  Seen here with Elvis who has squirrelled Saffie away... but I've found that spot too!!

And then there are the ducks that chose easy to find nests, lay their egg, get up and leave easy to find breakfasts for the crows.  Queen of Sillyness is Honey Barbara, who this week chose this tree as a nest site.  I despair of getting eggs from her this season!!  Is there much of a depression in the fallen tree?  No - the eggs fall to ground and smash as soon as she moves, Honey Barbara is pretty, but definitely not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Welcome little Hazel Rose Chantal Debleu

WOW!! We're grandparents.  Welcome to our little Hazel, born at 2:09am, 24 Sept, weighing 3.4kg and measuring 51.5cm.  Such a cutie - but I may be a little biased!!  LOL!!

Mamie Chantal has plainly not lost her touch, Hazel looks relaxed and ... well sleepy!!

Hazel does pensive - so sweet... think I'm dribbling!!

More Ducklings - YAYYYY

Yesterday Carmen's batch of eggs started to hatch in the incubator - bit of a worry as I didnt have a broody duck!!  And the weather was appalling, horizontal rain, hail and sleet!!

But today its bright and sunny - if cool - and the lovely Kiwi has stepped up to the plate and is currently looking after 5 ducklings - the 6th is still drying in the incubator after a tough hatch!!

Lots of lovely colours!!  The eldest hatched yesterday morning at 6am, and this morning I handed him over to Kiwi, shortly afterwards he was up and about and helping himself to food, under the watchful eye of his new mum.

Any Day with Llamas is a Good Day!

Today we went to visit Azzura, it was the first time that Freya had met her, and the first time I'd met the father of her next cria :).  Azzura looked lovely, Chopin was very handsome and we had a lovely time with the other llamas.  Also new to me today was meeting Azzura's last cria Arty Farty - he was such a good looker!!

Here are the girls and babies all lined up waiting to be let out to come up to the yards.

As soon as the gate is opened they charge out!!

And finally out came Azzura, bottom left in this pic!!

Azzura and her last cria heading up the hill.

This is Bang, his mother died during 'childbirth', and he was raised by a llama.  In his head he's a llama!!  So lovely and friendly!!

The lovely Charlemagne.

And this is Chopin, sire of Azzura's next cria :)

One of the young boys, a real sweetie, forward and friendly and such a sweetheart.

Everybody loves a pat, and the dog should not be forgotten!!  She kept tapping us on the back of the leg to remind us that she needs love to!!  LOL!!

Masquerade!!

Newest and most unexpected arrival - this gorgeous little colt.

Rum and Raisin, and Arty Farty - they are such lookers!!

This girl is from Victoria, dont know her name, but she is very striking - like her!!

These young boys are very forward!!

Silkies in the wind

The chookies are just about being blown away today!!

Lambkins and a very windy day

Lambing is going well here at Wedgewood, they keep turning up and seem - for the most part - to be doing very well.  We keep believing in the fox lights, and while they're about, they dont seem to be taking a toll on the newborns - keep your fingers and toes crossed it continues!!

This little guy was born this morning.  They are dark when first born.

Here with his mum.

Babies everywhere!!

In the long grass some of the littlies are hard to see!!  But he's a few days old because he's now white.

And this ewe looks like she'll pop tonight!!  More lambkins tomorrow!!

Weekend Workshop at Warambui

Had a lovely weekend at Warambui - near Murrumbateman (not a place TomTom  has heard of... till you get there - grrrrr).

Helen Godden was the tutor and we had a lovely time playing with Lumiere paints.

I have been using my Gammill for so long now that I have lost all the skill I once had in quilting with my Bernina.  So do not look closely at the stitching please!!

Sometimes hard to know when is enough with very sparkly shiny things, but Helen has the solution, use nothing but sparkly shiny!!  I love Lumiere paints and now have a few more in my collection ;-D

The weather was a bit to very chilly, the view was speccy, but nearly froze getting this pic!  Perfect weather for painting and quilting though :)

Sweet Pea and Carter

Sweet Pea and Carter are thriving, they are on excellent pasture and lapping it up.  It is so good to see them so happy :)

Carter is getting to be enormous!!  Such a big strong strapping lad!!

And Sweet Pea, looking fat and happy :)  Pleased with life, and in the pink - perfect for the activity planned for the end of this month ;-D

Carter and Sweet Pea enjoying alpaca nuts as a treat - they really really enjoy them!!  LOL!!
