Today, after tidying up a sore on Mouthie's head, caused by a close shave on shearing day, with some Chloromide Spray, I decided to 'decorate' Silver. Silver is a white suri who had no manners when she first arrived, but now, thanks to frequent handling, and that she must have had a nice nature underneath, she is a much more pleasant animal to have around, she eats from our hand and is much less kicky!! And today I turned her into the best looking polka dot alpaca EVER!!
Welcome to Rosie Francis' blog, a place to keep pace with the activities of a textile artist, long arm quilter, llama and alpaca farmer and self confessed duck nut living on the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia.

Little Al and Young Jake
We all keep telling Alan that his son looks very like his mother, and nothing like him... but Aleisha has made this pic combo with Alan as a baby on the left and young Jake.... looks a lot more like peas in a pod than I would have guessed!!

A Post for Joy
These pics are for Joy who is having problems seeing pics out there in Navy land!!
This is Jumanji - who I think is faking and thus not a good candidate for your starter herd:
She is friendly and quiet and eat pellets from your hand, but unfortunately does not appear to be an easy breeder :)
This is Scarlett, who is also quiet and lovely, she has a white spot on her left hind leg:
She is definitely pregnant and will give birth in the latter half of next month :)
Lastly, this is Nefertiti, who again is lovely and quiet, expected to give birth in the next couple of weeks, gorgeous blue black fleece :)

All three are approaching 2 years of age and have (should have) their first crias on board :)
All three are half sisters, Alba is father to all three, all non-kickers... despite a couple of kicky mothers! All halter trained and fully vaccinated, registered and wormed :)

Meanwhile in Melbourne
The quilt I made for Jake is getting a lovely work out!! Look at all these cute babies!! Nothing nicer than seeing a quilt being used :)
Canberra and a visit with Scarlett Rose
I hadnt even put my foot on the front step when through the fly wire I heard a very chirpy little voice say (very loudly!) "Hello Gargie" :) Scarlett is very keen on 'chatting' as always, lots to say, lots of new words... turtle, frog, lion, owl! Books to read and Lego to play with and her 'winning' smile as soon as I get my camera out. Pictures taken she wants to review them on the back of the camera, then my keys inspected for the Maison Mauve tag - much pointing and "llama, llama" :) We have a convert!
