New Lamb

On Saturday evening, my neighbours from down the road arrived with a little (well BIG really) ewe lamb, whose mother had walked away as soon as she was born.  She was found in the shallows of the dam!!

She gave me a bit of worry at the start but is looking much better now.  They had named her Maggie (as in Maggie Simpson) because of how well she latched onto the bottle.  They live about 10 kms south of us, and Maggie has the biggest voice I've ever heard on a lamb, so I call her 'The Mouth from the South', or Mouthie!!  She weighed 5.38kg this morning, which is pretty impressive for 4 days old.

She is 6 days younger than Sunday Rose, and they are both out of Merino mothers, by Dorset rams, hopefully they will be good pals a bit later on :)
