Its the weekend, and time for a long conflab with her Dad.
Welcome to Rosie Francis' blog, a place to keep pace with the activities of a textile artist, long arm quilter, llama and alpaca farmer and self confessed duck nut living on the Southern Tablelands of New South Wales, Australia.

Hazel's bath time
Hazel loves a bath, as soon as she hears the water running she is tripping over herself to get in!!
Bourgoin-Jallieu walk
Lindy and I have taken several long walks around Bourgoin-Jallieu recently, past the mairie, along the canal, past houses old and art deco and all sorts!! The berries, many and varied with the virginia creeper add lots of colour.

A night out and Hazel update
Last night Lindy and I went out for dinner leaving Hazel in the care of her doting father, and paternal grandparents. Before leaving we sampled a very nice red wine that Pierre had brought for us to try.
The food at the restaurant was very good, I had duck followed by creme brulee, hard to go wrong!! Seen here with fruit cocktails before the meal.
This morning Hazel was all smiles again :) We had a long and involved discussion ;-D

Hazel's Fairy Wall
Yesterday while Chantal took Hazel for a walk, Lindy and I decorated her bedroom wall.
More pics of Hazel, Gargie, Mamie and Mummy. I did take pics of Pierre and Antoine with Hazel, but with Pierre's camera!!
No update would be complete without Ron! This pic taken by Pierre to try out my telephoto lens ;-D

The Advent Tree and Hazel at Bath Time
I bought an advent tree at the local craft store and painted and decorated it - quite pleased with the outcome, though Hazel may be more interested in the contents of each box!!
This is a happy Hazel at bath time pic.... albeit sideways, bloody MicroSoft!
Sunday, the rugby, the market and Bourgoin-Jallieu centre ville
Ron and Antoine watched the rugby with - as it turns out - well placed fear and trepidation.
Lindy, Hazel and I headed out to the market rather than watch the dying minutes ;-)
Hazel is smiling and talking fit to burst.

Market Day in Argentat and the 'scenic' way home
On Thursday, its market day in Argentat. There is the usual array of stuff, I went in search of tete en gelee, but had no luck. There were several stores selling vast quantities of artificial flowers and no shortage of people wanting them.
This dog did very well for himself, every time someone bought meat from the butcher, he threw the trimmings out the door and straight into this lucky dog's mouth. Just out of shot is his tail which was wagging flat out!!
The fresh produce was good, the clothing and other stores grim!
I took the scenic route home, having followed signs to a gothic church, but no church found, and no further signs!! Did find a cemetery and finally found out what all the artificial flowers were for, this place was covered in them. And most graves had vast numbers of plaques commemorating birthdays and wedding anniversaries of the deceased.
Driving home the 'back' had some very frightening narrow roads, but some brilliant views.
Back at home the farmer had moved stock into the paddock on the other side of the cottage, roundest sleekest fattest cattle ever!!
This cow was rummaging about in the brambles ...... she looks quite fetching dont you think? LOL!!
