Out and About in the Afternoon

As soon as I start walking around with a camera out in the paddock.. in the middle of the afternoon.... EVERYBODY wants to know what I'm doing!!

Doubled the size of my suri herd on Sunday with the addition of Hannah and her cria Harriet.

Also joining the team is Tina, who is a blue eyed white and appears to be deaf.  She has had no issues raising her crias who are not similarly afflicted.

Even the sheep want to know what's going on!

And Sunday Rose likes hanging with the big kids so much that when they ran up to greet me, she forgot everything Sherrie told her, and came too!!

Milly, Molly, Mandy

The lambs are getting bigger, and spending more time outside, soon it will be time to let them join the herd and be grown up sheep!!  They are very keen to go out each morning and play, especially Milly who is a great climber!!

Milly, Molly, Mandy Update and Llama Selfies

Milly, Molly and Mandy are growing up and getting big!  They love their 'free time' in the yards after the llamas and alpacas have left.  They have to be supervised during this time as we have yet another pesky fox hanging around!!  MMM are down to 2 feeds a day which is making life less hectic!

Ody and Mehitabel continue with their lead and halter training, both are walking well now, AND putting up with silly selfie shots!!  LOL!!

Sherrie has a gammy leg at the moment, and has not coming in for brekkie, so I took her some in her creek bed hide out!  Hopefully time will cure it, because she is a cranky old thing and its impossible to do much for her.  That said she managed to come in today, so she must be feeling a bit better :)

Halter Training

There has been a lot of halter training going on.  Pierre and Farquhar were on a refresher course, as Victor Hugo and Yves are at present.  And there is on going training for our young llamas, Ody and Mehitabel.  Mehitabel was very nervous about the whole thing until I started walking her with Ody, who is supremely quiet and confident.  Mehitabel is much happier to walk now, even on her own :)

Lambkins and Crias

Nothing cuter than lambs and crias, here they are today enjoying the sunshine :)

Jade is 14 months old now, past the cute cria stage but still a sweetie and a favourite.

Jemima is such a funny girl, she loves skitting about, running and pig rooting all over the shop!  LOL!!

Tibbs and Voodoo are very interested in the lambs, although Tibbs is not keen to get as close as Voodoo!

Our youngest cria Wolfgang is thriving and his light bright blue eyes mean you cannot help but look at him!

Wintery Sunday with Scarlett and the Brat Pack at Home

The weather in Canberra yesterday was bleak, so Scarlett was well rugged up for a trip to Gold Creek, where we enjoyed lunch at Injoy Cafe.  She was Daddy's girl, and waited quite patiently for her 'kids meal' of bacon and egg with a chocolate milk shake.... which she had a great time with... until she finished... then she cleared the deck and sent all the food onto the floor for the sparrows to clean up!!

There are 11 crias in the home paddock, and they are quite the Brat Pack now... getting them into a yard is tricky!  They rush in one end and out the other like greased lightning.

Chiara is often the instigator of 'break outs'.  She is also always trying to sneak a feed from any unsuspecting mother she finds!

Jemima, after a rough start in life, she is now full of the joy of it, loves running and pig rooting and is always up for a game.

Jemima's partner in crime is Rosamund, they are as thick as thieves!

Ody is now so much bigger than all the other crias that he just trots along in order not to overtake everyone!

He is coming along very well at his halter training, though today's session will be cancelled because of the weather, cuddling wet llamas is no fun!!

I taped Petit Choux' flippy out ear for 9 days and it appears to have been successful.  Tape has been off for 5 days now and its holding its shape well.

Wolfgang is 6 days old today and has started to join in the running games, rather than being the one being chased.  The weather has turned very cold, very quicky and I have him rugged today... much to Wia's disapproval!!

Orchid has decided that I am so slow handing out the food, that she'll just help herself!

Museli?  What museli?  I'm not eating anything!!
