New Arrivals

Today I drove to Wilton to the home of Painted Persian Sheep to collect our new ram lambs, Lynley and Barnaby - AKA, the Inspectors.

All the sheep were keen to say hello!!

This is Barnaby's mother Autumn - she's a Persian sheep, his father is a Damara.

And this is Lynley's mother Suzi (Dorper), who wasnt keen to step back for a proper photo!!

And his father Abraham.

And his (full) sister... from last season, whose name I've forgotten.

Long trip home, but we made it.  Milly, Molly and Mandy were greeted enthusiastically by the boys, who made no nasty comments about their new (basin) haircuts which they got yesterday along with 'nether region' trim courtesy of Reids Flat shearer Cliff - who was very patient with fidgety lambs!!

The whole gang wanted to meet the new bugs!!

Milly, Molly, Mandy

The lambs are getting bigger, and spending more time outside, soon it will be time to let them join the herd and be grown up sheep!!  They are very keen to go out each morning and play, especially Milly who is a great climber!!

Nap time in the yards on a foggy morning.

Ody and Mehitabel, almost always together, hard to believe there is only 2 weeks difference in age!

Sevana, starting to look a bit chubby, really hoping she is finally pregnant :)

Milly, Molly, Mandy Update and Llama Selfies

Milly, Molly and Mandy are growing up and getting big!  They love their 'free time' in the yards after the llamas and alpacas have left.  They have to be supervised during this time as we have yet another pesky fox hanging around!!  MMM are down to 2 feeds a day which is making life less hectic!

Ody and Mehitabel continue with their lead and halter training, both are walking well now, AND putting up with silly selfie shots!!  LOL!!

Sherrie has a gammy leg at the moment, and has not coming in for brekkie, so I took her some in her creek bed hide out!  Hopefully time will cure it, because she is a cranky old thing and its impossible to do much for her.  That said she managed to come in today, so she must be feeling a bit better :)

New Friends for Sherrie

Sherrie is our lone Merino ewe.

At the moment she is keeping company with a very handsome young Dorset ram, but he'll be going home (down the road) again soon, and then she's back to being on her own.... with 30 or so llamas and alpacas!!

But in a few months she'll have some company, when Milly, Molly and Mandy are big enough to be out in the paddock on their own.  They are second cross Dorset ewes.  The lady I got them from has 60 bottle babies at the moment!!  She makes me look quite sane really ;-P  She is looking for more people to help her out... by taking some babies with them when they leave - 3 is plenty for me to look after!!

Milly (Right, age 4 weeks), Molly (Centre, age 3 weeks) and Mandy (Left, age 2 weeks)

Very hard to get them to stand still for photos!!  They just keep walking towards me in case I have a bottle!
